Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie (born 27 May 1990), better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a well-known Nigerian reggae and dancehall singer and songwriter.

His music career began with underground collaborations with XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. In 2010, he signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records and released “Up in D Club” under the label.

Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on the song “Alubarika”. In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released the single “Girlie O” which catapulted him to fame. He collaborated with Tiwa Savage on a remix of Girlie O.

On February 9, 2015, Patoranking announced on Instagram that he had signed a publishing deal with VP Records. On September 28, he released a song titled Abule, which he released ahead of his album, which is scheduled to be released later in 2020.

Early life and education

Patoranking was born and raised in the satellite town of Ijegun-Egba but his family roots are in Onitsha, Ebonyi State. He was born on May 27, 1990 and is 34 years old.

He released both the audio and video of “Alubarika” on September 12, 2013. The song literally means “God’s Blessing” and is sung by Timaya.

The music video for “Alubarika” was shot by AJE Films and is 4 minutes and 16 seconds long. According to an article published by Victor Akande of El País, Patoranking described the song as a summary of his life as a musician and said it opened the door for him to build a fan base and collaborate with well-known musicians.

In February 2014, Patoranking signed a record deal with Foston Musik and ended his relationship with Dem Mama Records.
