early life
Paul Adams was born three years before Nigeria’s independence. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Adams on January 28, 1957. He was born in Benin City and is a native of Edo State.
Paul Adams is an Edo native who speaks the local dialect fluently. He was born into a middle-class family and his parents raised him to Christianity. He lived in a middle-class neighborhood in Benin City when he was young.
His acting career began in his childhood when he and his classmates were taken to the then Nigerian Television (now the Nigerian Television Authority) to act in children’s plays. He also joined drama groups in secondary school and college.
Although Paul Adams was born and raised in Edo State, he moved to Lagos at a young age for higher education. After completing his studies at a tertiary institution in Lagos, he settled in the mainland area of Lagos.

He began to take acting seriously after starring in a church play, “Jesus is the Light of the World.” The play was directed by Imee James. His friend and actor Patrick Doyle also attended the event.
Patrick Doyle praised his performance and connected him with movie producer Zeb Ejiro. He soon landed a role in Zeb Ejiro’s hit series Ripples. Due to his success in Ripples, he landed another role in the TV series Checkmate. Amaka Igwe produced the popular series. He has since acted in several soap operas and Nigerian movies.
Paul Adams also had a successful career in the journalism industry. He began his journalism career as an illustrator at News Watch magazine. He later left News Watch and worked in a series of news magazines before joining Vanguard. He worked as a cartoon editor at Vanguard for ten years before retiring. After leaving journalism, he produced his first film, Shackles, in 1999. He wrote the screenplay for the film. He also produced a TV series, Lifestyle, which aired on Africa Magic in 2007.
In 2014, Paul Adams produced a 13-part series NERSA WATCH, an environmental advocacy film produced for the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency.
