Dario G’s Paul Spencer had one last wish before passing away at the age of 53.

Spencer’s official Instagram page confirmed his death on Monday, June 17, posting one year after the late musician announced he had been diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Paul Spencer today,” his family wrote in a statement. “He was positive until the end but this was a battle he could no longer fight. He left behind a wonderful musical legacy and many happy memories for many people. Everyone love him will miss him. Please shine our great star – K, A & H xxx.”

Before his death, he appeared in an interview with The Mirror, where he opened up about his life as a stage four cancer patient.

According to member Dario G, he always maintains positivity even though it feels like it’s “dwindling”.

With his health battle, he reportedly found a meaningful hobby and got a wish after his diagnosis.

The cancer-stricken musician told the news agency that he wants to collect watches every year “for the rest of his life.”

“I thought, ‘Well, no, I can buy a watch because it’s there. And you know, it’s something you can look at. It’s something that reminds of the future. I’ll try to make it happen. it becomes a positive thing.” like, ‘That’s when I hit that milestone.’ When I hit that milestone, one of the things I have is well, I’m going to buy a watch and then I’m going to buy a new watch every year for the rest of my life,” Spencer continued. .

At that time, he reminded everyone that “getting old is a privilege” that many people take for granted.

Throughout the final months of his life, Spencer took his fans and loved ones along in his battle by documenting his treatment online.

After receiving a diagnosis of rectal cancer, he revealed in a video in January that his cancer had spread to his liver and lungs.

Spencer and his group are known for their debut single “Sunchyme”. The 1997 song was beaten by Elton John’s “Candle In The Wind” tribute to Princess Diana, following the royal princess’s tragic death.
