Early life and education
Peter Mbah was born in Enugu State on 17 March 1972. He obtained his SSCE from the Army Children’s School in Port Harcourt and Owode Secondary School in Ogun State.
He then obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of East London in the United Kingdom. He then attended law school in Nigeria and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar Association.
Peter Mbah received his MBA from IESE Business School at the University of Navarra in Spain and his master’s degree in maritime and commercial law from Lagos State University.
He holds a postgraduate degree in strategy and innovation from the University of Oxford’s Said Business School. Godfrey Okoye University in Enugu also awarded him an honorary doctorate in political science.
Career
Peter Mbah founded Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd. After a successful corporate career, he entered politics. He was appointed Chief of Staff by Governor Chimaroke Nnamani in 2003, and later served as Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development.
He has, however, held positions in the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee, the Enugu State Executive Council and the State Security Council.
Peter Mbah chairs several committees, including the Subcommittee on Legal Affairs of the Federal Accounts Appropriations Committee.
He was also selected as the PDP candidate for the governorship of Enugu State in the 2023 general elections.
