Phil Mickelson, a famous American golfer, was born on June 16, 1970 in San Diego, California. He is the son of Philip Mickelson Sr., a former naval aviator and airline pilot, and Mary Santos.
Mickelson is of Portuguese, Swedish and Sicilian descent. His father, an avid golfer, introduced him to golf at a young age and began teaching Phil the game even before he entered school.
