Prince Harry gets fake ink from Jelly Roll in a new video that also reveals the country music star will headline the closing ceremony of the upcoming Invictus Games.
On November 19, the official Invictus Games Instagram account shared a clip of Prince Harry and Jelly Roll meeting at East Side Ink, a tattoo studio in New York City. The video was likely filmed during Prince Harry’s solo trip to New York in September.
“Look around, can we help you?” an employee at a tattoo shop asks Prince Harry at the beginning of the clip.
“No, I’m fine. Will he be here soon?” Harry then asked.
Jelly Roll then walked in and warmly welcomed Harry, saying: “Hey, hey! Tattoos! Talk about it! What’s up! I’m a fan, man. You know I can’t Believe it or not when they call me and tell me Prince Harry wants a tattoo today? They want me to give him his first tattoo? This is the best thing ever!
Harry is shocked when Jelly Roll appears wearing gloves.
“We’re going to give you a tattoo of the Invictus Games,” Jelly Roll explains.
“No, I’m here to invite you to the Invictus Games. There are no tattoos here. I can’t get one!” Harry replied.
“I’m gonna play the Invictus Games, you let me give you your first tattoo,” the “Save Me” singer said.
Prince Harry reluctantly agreed to this deal.
“Okay, come on, let’s go,” he said.
However, they couldn’t agree on where to get the tattoo done because Jelly Roll wanted it done on Harry’s neck while Harry was thinking of another location.
“We must attack the neck!” Jelly shared.
“I’m thinking about my lower back or my butt,” Harry replied.
“No one wants to see your ass, Harry!” Jelly Roll laughed loudly. “No, that’s where no one can see it.”
Harry protested: “This is for the world!”
The pair go back and forth about the size of the tattoo and Jelly Roll says it will be “huge” and Harry is shocked at how “huge” it is.
The country star protested, “The Invictus game is huge,” and Harry seemed shocked to see Jelly Roll’s name in ink. Seemingly inspired by Invictus Games’ “I am” logo, he wrote “I am Jelly Roll.”
Harry tries to find the answer before Jelly Roll takes off.
“I’ll see you in Vancouver! I’ll be there, I appreciate you!” he said before leaving.
Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler takes place on February 16, 2025. Invictus Games says the full lineup of performances will be announced on November 20, as the countdown continues to the next installment of the game .
Prince Harry, a former British Army captain, founded the Invictus Games in 2014 as an international adaptive sports competition for injured, injured and ill soldiers and veterans, aiming to promote the healing process.
