Early life
Prince Maurice Shembo immigrated to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1986.
He was born on December 24, 1991.
His older sister, Christelle Shembo, is a forward on the Wake Forest University women’s basketball team.
He was born in 1991 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the city where he grew up and nurtured his childhood dream of becoming a professional NFL player.
Education
Prince Shembo attended Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and due to his excellent academic performance in high school, he received a scholarship to Notre Dame. He accepted the offer and turned down other scholarship offers from various places.
Career
Now-declined, Prince Shembo was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round (139th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft and signed with the Falcons on May 18, 2014.
However, his playing career ended abruptly when the Falcons released him on May 29, 2015, after he was arrested on animal cruelty charges after allegedly killing his girlfriend’s dog.
His lawyer confirmed that he accidentally killed his girlfriend’s Yorkshire Terrier when he kicked it after it bit him, which then led to the dog’s death.
This incident brought Prince Shembo’s playing career to an abrupt end as his club disapproved of his actions and subsequently dropped him from the team.

Prince Shembo’s life has been filled with various accusations and circumstances. In 2009, during his senior year of high school, he was suspended for throwing a desk at a teacher who had taken his cell phone. This caused him to be delayed in high school for a while.
Additionally, at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine, Prince Shembo admitted that while a student at Notre Dame in 2010, he was accused of raping Lizzy Seeberg, a female student at nearby Saint Mary’s College, who later committed suicide.
Prince Shembo said he was innocent of the charges, but other parties involved in the case said Prince Shembo was guilty and that the school administration covered up the incident for him.
On May 29, 2015, Prince Shembo was arrested by Gwinnett County Police after being accused of killing his girlfriend, Denicia Williams’ dog; this later led to the end of his rising football career as a player. He currently resides in the United States and is not currently in any public relationships.
