PUBG Wiki

PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, once known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is a game in which up to 100 players parachute onto an island, search for weapons and gear, and try not to get knocked down while knocking out others. The game’s map shrinks over time, bringing everyone closer together until one person or team is the last survivor.

It launched first for PC in 2017, and later for Xbox, PlayStation, mobile devices and other platforms. Although it had some technical issues, critics loved its fresh gameplay for all skill levels and how it kept bringing players back. PUBG became a big thing, inspiring other similar games and winning various awards. It has sold millions of copies and earned a whopping $13 billion worldwide, making it one of the most successful video games of all time.

PUBG gameplay

PUBG is a game where you compete against up to 100 other players for the ultimate victory. First, you parachute onto one of eight maps, each with its own size and landscape. Once you land, it’s a race to find weapons, armor, and other gear in buildings and other locations on the map. Game twist? The play area becomes smaller, forcing everyone to be closer together and more likely to encounter each other.

If you’re trapped outside this shrinking safe area, you’ll take damage and possibly be kicked out of the game. To make things more interesting, random parts of the map will be bombed, forcing players to move and find safer spots. Players can also chase loot dropped by aircraft, adding more fun to finding equipment. Each game usually lasts around 30 minutes, and how you perform earns you in-game money to buy cool cosmetics for your character or weapons. They’ll even run special events with mixed rules, such as larger groups or changing where gear appears on the map.
