Since Mac Miller’s tragic passing in 2018, fans have been heartbroken, and over the past few years, they’ve been paying tribute to the late rapper through records, various content, and releases to yours again. However, a new Miller album has been teased.
On November 17, Miller’s posthumous album “Balloonerism” was launched at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival. Many clips on social media show the two-minute trailer ending with the caption “SOON”.
The trailer then goes on to show a post about the album, which shows cover art by Alim Smith.
The cover photo is also the same as the one Smith uploaded in 2018.
This is not the first time new music has been released by the late rapper, because in 2020, fans received his first posthumous album “Circles”.
According to Variety, Miller reportedly worked on “Ballonerism” before his 2014 mixtape “Faces,” and fans received some leaked songs from the posthumous release.
However, on social media, fans criticized some netizens who said “Balloonism” would be a “money grab”. Fans began to defend Miller’s legacy and the intentions of the upcoming album.
To all you fake Mac fans who think Balloonerism’s official release is money-grabbing or disrespectful, shut up. This is not the JuiceWorld/X situation. His estate cares about how his art is released, and they want fans to have an experience with him.

Man, I’m not going to let people lie about my son’s family when they’re working overtime to carry on his legacy. Karen, Mark and Miller deserve respect.

On the other hand, some are emotional about the upcoming content. One person commented: “A Mac Miller in 2025 will heal me in ways no one can describe.” Read more of their comments below:
I have been against the posthumous release of works of art. However, it’s possible that Mac authorized the release of the material after he left.
With that said, this looks interesting and I’m looking forward to it. https://t.co/KE1lVzsPMW
