Rosalyn Maurer grew up in The Gambia, where she spent her formative years. Her father is Dutch and her mother is from Delta State.

Maurer oversaw the rehabilitation and opening of the water supply project at the Udu Main Market in Udu, Delta State, on May 25, 2017.
