Sabrina Carpenter admits she’s a bit ‘cocky’ after her own songs blew up her Spotify

Sabrina Carpenter has one of the biggest albums and songs of the year, so many that she can’t even escape them.

In an interview with Vogue Arabia magazineThe singer was asked which songs and artists got her Spotify Wrapped for the year. She then revealed that some of her own songs have made her heard as of late.

“I did. It’s funny because when I first saw my photo, my initial reaction was ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t post that because I’m alone.’ [list]. It’s a bit presumptuous.” But then I thought, I guess it’s good that I’m on my own list and listening to my own music, because it means I f*ck with what I do,” she said.

However, Carpenter did reveal the other artists that have her Spotify covered.

“But the other groups are Dolly Parton, ABBA, Kacey Musgraves and the Bee Gees,” she said.

Interestingly, Carpenter had the #1 song on Spotify in the US in 2024. She achieved this with her song “Espresso”. She surpassed other songs such as “Not Like Us” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” to win the top title.

Her album Short and sweetranked 3rd most listened to album in the US on Spotify.

Elsewhere in the interview, Carpenter talked about her recent Netflix special, A meaningless Christmas.

“It’s like my own special little variety show; It’s something so sweet and fun, and I’m so proud that we pulled it off this year. There’s just no time.” [to make it]; I felt like I was unconscious and we shot it. I don’t know what happened,” she said about working on the project.

Special featured artists such as Shania Twain, Chappell Roan and Carpenter talked about having superstars in the special.

“It’s such a wonderful gift to be able to celebrate all that all of these amazing women have done this year. I’m not leaving out the men, but the women took the cake this year . So it’s a perfection.” the opportunity to maybe bring some of them together. [Uchis] has been one of my favorite artists for a long time. And Shania f–king Twain! I’ve admired her my whole life. Carpenter recently wrapped up the first leg of his Short n’ Sweet tour and is scheduled to wrap up in April 2025.
