Neighbors reported hearing screams and called the police, who arrived promptly and arrested the suspect shortly after he fled the scene.
Khan was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors treated his injuries and confirmed his condition was stable. He has now recovered and is out of danger.
Police have opened an investigation to determine whether the suspect has accomplices or not. A spokesman said: “We are pursuing all leads to ensure the safety of the area.”
After the incident, local authorities pledged to increase patrols in famous residential areas and increase security measures for high-end residential areas.
This attack has increased concerns about celebrity safety in Mumbai, which has seen a rise in similar incidents.
Just a few weeks ago, another Bollywood star faced a break-in that prompted a police investigation. A series of recent incidents has increased public pressure on authorities to address the growing security risks facing celebrities and ordinary people alike.
