early life
Samklef was born in Nigeria and hails from the Igbo tribe in the South East geopolitical zone. He is a native of Imo State, known as the Eastern Heartland. He is 39 years old.
The world-class producer was born on February 5, 1985 to Mr. and Mrs. Oguachuba in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria. A few weeks after Samklef was born, his parents registered his birth as Samuel Oguachuba.
Lagos had an impact on Samcliffe’s upbringing, he spent his early years in the city, living at the Ikeja Air Force Base. His father was an officer, so the family lived in the military barracks.
Samcliffe and his family have lived in different parts of Lagos from birth to adulthood. His family moved from the Air Force Base to Ijuu. After that, they moved to a flat in Maroko and from there to Allen Avenue. They also lived in Oregun and Ogba for a particular period.

His love for music led him to a career as a DJ. After learning the tricks of the trade from an old friend, he began working as a DJ in Lagos. He initially performed at parties in his neighbourhood and later moved on to performing at top events and shows in Lagos.
However, his big break came when he switched to sound production. While working as a DJ, Samklef had been learning how to make beats, and within a few months, he had mastered the skill.
So he started looking for emerging artists to work with. That’s how he came across Afrobeats icon Wizkid. One cannot tell Wizkid’s success story in the music industry without mentioning Samklef’s name. The producer is responsible for the beats of hits like “Tease Me,” “Don’t Dull,” and “Pakuromo.”
He has also collaborated with other A-list Nigerian musicians such as D’Prince, Durella, Vector, RuggedMan, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Simi, Olamide, Banky W and Sunny Neji.
He has also produced many successful songs and projects such as “My Life (Enemies),” “Kilode”, “Everybody Loves Ice Prince”, “Jagz Nation”, “Vol 1.”, “Superstar”, “YBNL”, “Slow Whine”, “Wad Up”, “Do It To Me” and “What You Wanna Do?”.
Samklef is also a recording artist. He released his debut album in 2010. The project was titled Noni, and the international version of the album was released in 2011, titled NONILIZING.
In addition to music, he is also a budding filmmaker, having written and produced several short films, and has worked for entertainment companies such as Sound Factory, Mind Falls, Exp & i360, and Flow Records.
