early life
Sasha’s parents divorced very early. So she had to move around a lot. Her mother is South African and her father is Zimbabwean.
At the age of 12, Sasha joined the choir as a soprano and discovered that she had a good voice.
Shasha was born on June 13, 1994 in Mutare, Zimbabwe.
However, she had no idea of starting a music career until one of her songs made it to the biggest radio station in Zimbabwe at the time.
educate
Shasha attended 9 different schools, 5 of which were elementary schools and 4 were secondary schools.
This is because her parents live in different countries and she travels a lot.
She was going to study nursing, but one of her home recordings caught people’s attention.
Profession
Shamiso’s career began when one of her home recordings was picked up by a major radio station (ZiFM) in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The CEO of ZiFM appreciated her talent and introduced her to singer-songwriter Audius Mtawarira, who later became her mentor and helped her improve her craft.
She began collaborating with artists like Cal Vin (with whom she wrote her first hit).
However, her main goal was to become an all-around singer, so she worked hard to break free from her own constraints and took vocal training.
Her driver in South Africa, Blessing, also used to drive for DJ Maphorisa. After discovering that she was a singer, Blessing connected her with the DJ in 2017. In 2018, she signed with Dj Maphorisa’s record label, BlaqBoy Music. Since then, the singer’s career has taken a huge turn.
After gaining recognition for her beautiful singing on songs such as Samthing Soweto’s “Akulaleki”, Scorpion Kings’ “We Mama” and Mlindo The Vocalist’s “Nge Thanda Wena”, Shasha released her debut EP “Blossom” in 2019.
Her EP is very popular!
