Saygin Yalcin (born 25 April 1984) is a prominent German businessman and academic lecturer of Turkish origin currently living in Dubai. He is the founder and CEO of the online used car marketplace Sukar.com.

Early life and education
Saygin Yalcin was born to Turkish immigrants in 1984 on April 25, in Breman, Germany. He had a fairly successful professional football career; however, a serious knee injury ended his football career at the age of 24.

After retiring from football, he turned to business. For his education, he studied in Germany and then in the United States and Mexico. Saygin Yalcin also attended Monroe College, a private for-profit college located in New York, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Relatively little is known about Saygin Yalcin’s parents and siblings, as he has chosen to keep his family out of the media spotlight. However, he has revealed that he has a younger sister who suffers from a rare disorder that causes severe epilepsy.

Career
In 2004, Saygin Yalcin worked in marketing and sales for BMW. He was also recruited by Capgemini and L’Oreal. He started his business career by founding a company in Germany. He then moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he founded Sukar.com. After selling it to Souq.com, he founded SellAnyCar.com and became the company’s CEO.
He also gained popularity on social media, after appearing on YouTube. Saygin Yalcin is a visiting lecturer on entrepreneurship at the Canadian University in Dubai. His YouTube channel hosts a show called Startup Hero, in which selected viewers pitch their ideas to Yalcin and other investors for funding.
Saygin Yalcin has raised around €10 million in a round of investment from Polar Light Ventures to expand sellanycar.com into Europe. He hopes to raise €100 million in another round of investment, turning the company into a unicorn.
However, the investment round was canceled. Sellanycar.com expanded to Germany in 2015. The goal was to overtake the market leader of the unicorn AUTO1 Group. After a few months, sellanycar.com’s operations in Germany were discontinued.
