Mariah Carey may be having a gloating moment as she is said to be feeling gleeful over Jennifer Lopez’s downfall.
An anonymous insider recently revealed to In Touch Weekly that the 55-year-old singer-songwriter is happy to see that fate has finally smiled on J.Lo, also 55, after years of success in the entertainment industry despite “not having much talent.”
“[Mariah] believes it’s karma coming down on her because she’s not as talented as she thinks she is and is too arrogant,” the source shared with the news agency.
Insiders claim this was Carey’s reaction after witnessing Lopez’s canceled tour and the marital issues she’s been facing with her husband, Ben Affleck.
The “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hitmaker is said to have been following the news and gossip about the “Jenny From the Block” singer’s life “very closely and has enjoyed watching her fall.”
While the singer-actress is dealing with the aftermath of tour cancellations and marital issues, Mariah is reportedly busy preparing after landing a gig at Dolby Live inside the Park MGM Hotel in Las Vegas.
“Mariah is really excited to be back in Vegas and is eager to prove that she’s still at the top of her game when it comes to putting on a show and bringing in ticket sales,” the source said. “She’s super excited to prove that she still has the juice after J. Lo had to cancel her concert tour.”

According to HotNewHipHop, the discord between Carey and Lopez began in the 1990s. It is said that it all started when Carey collaborated with her ex-husband, Tommy Mottola.
Over the years, Mariah has criticized Lopez, including when she was asked about the latter, to which she responded, “I don’t know her,” to a reporter while shaking her head and smiling. The incident has since become a meme.
“For J. Lo, this is a huge blow to Mariah planning all these big concerts, especially since she knows how much Mariah talked bad about her and laughed at her about her divorce,” a source told In Touch of Jennifer’s current situation.
However, the insider also said Lopez isn’t giving up and she’s willing to fight Carey by continuing her tour in time for the holidays.
“Now she’ll have to endure the humiliation of watching Mariah take the stage. But J. Lo isn’t giving up, she’s hoping to pick herself up and get the tour back on track once all this drama has settled down,” the source said.
“And a big motivation would be to go head-to-head with Mariah and compete for her holiday fan base. It’s hard to believe she’s thinking that far ahead, but that’s J. Lo, she always has a game plan.”
