David Beckham, the former England captain, is yet to join the esteemed ranks of sports stars who have been knighted, a list that includes luminaries such as the late Sir Bobby Charlton and the former Manchester manager United, Sir Alex Ferguson. Beckham’s recent appointment as ambassador for the King’s Foundation was announced and he had the honor of meeting Her Majesty at Highgrove.

Partnering with Iconic Artists Group for this transaction, the 79-year-old “Maggie May” hitmaker aims to preserve and enhance her musical legacy for future generations of fans.

A press release obtained by People magazine confirmed Iconic’s dedication to growing and expanding Stewart’s musical legacy that spans six decades.

Reported by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Stewart sold his ownership of the publishing catalog, recorded music and some name and image rights to Irving Azoff’s Iconic for nearly $100. million dollars.

The company has also amassed $1 billion to invest in the music assets of various artists.
