Simon Cowell has been a main judge on singing competitions and talent shows on the small screen for many years, but it was only recently that he decided to show off his singing skills to his fans.
On Monday, the same day he officially turned 65, the famous television personality took to Instagram to share a video of himself singing “Happy Birthday” to himself in front of the camera.

After singing the birthday song, the original American Idol judge addressed the elephant in the room: “And that’s why I decided to never become a singer!”
In response to his video update, fans mocked his singing talent or lack thereof.

“Unfortunately, that’s my No,” one social media user wrote, while another commented, “Give up, no energy left, 65 years old and still alive.”
Another added: “We love you because you don’t sing anyway.”
Many others also sent Cowell’s post birthday wishes and positive messages.
“I don’t like your birthday, I LOVE your birthday, @simoncowell. Happy birthday to the most amazing man in the world. Hope you have a great time with your family. Looking forward to seeing you again you next season at AGT,” one said fan wrote.

Another fan jokingly greeted him on his special day by writing: “Happy birthday Simon. I’m going to your singing concert. I hope you’re okay and enjoying life . Thank you for the wonderful artists you have brought to the world.”
In addition to explaining why he had never sung before, Simon also gave a touching message to all of his supporters in his video update.
