Hello everyone! It’s not often we get a glimpse behind the curtain of fame, but Nigerian music sensation Solidstar has lifted it up for us. In a candid chat on Honest Bunch PodcastHe revealed his difficult journey with drugs.
The ‘OmotenaThe hitmaker made no secret of how he was introduced to “stone” – that’s the street talk about crystal methamphetamine – of some friends in 2021. And let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. Well, except for that one time when he walked from Awoyaya to Oriental Hotel On Victoria Island, a journey that should have taken a taxi rather than sneakers.

“It’s like this substance has a direct line to my ego.”, Solidstar shared. “It makes me feel like a king, tells me not to worry about paying for things“ .
But by August 2023, the picture was no longer so glamorous. Videos began to appear online, showing Solidstar looking worse for wear, wandering the streets aimlessly. His brother, Joseph Iniyezo, revealed the truth, blaming his war on drugs.
But wait, there’s a twist to this story. Solidstar revealed that he’s changed in a recent conversation with Saturday Beats. He’s curbed his addictions, quitting smoking and drinking.
“I’m feeling great, guys.“, he smiled brightly. “No more lighting fires or hitting bottles. It’s all about keeping it real.“ .
And you know what? This trip taught him a thing or two. He learned the power of opening up, not holding those feelings in. Plus, he’s been praising the support he’s received from friends, fans, and family during his darkest days.
“If it weren’t for them, I would sing a different tune.”, he confessed, grateful for the love that kept him going.
