A woman who claims the late rapper Takeoff raped her in 2020 won a victory in court when a judge appointed the singer’s mother as the new defendant in the plaintiff’s lawsuit.

The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, alleged in a complaint filed in Van Nuys Superior Court that Takeoff – real name Kirshnik Khari Ball – raped her at a party at a house in Encino on June 23, 2020.

Takeoff was shot and killed on November 1, 2022, at a bowling alley in Houston; he is a member of the Atlanta rap trio Migos.

According to MyNewsLA.com, a Doe motion — naming Titiana Patrice Davenport, Takeoff’s mother, a defendant in the current case — was approved by Judge Huey P. Cotton on Friday.

A probate judge in Georgia named Davenport administrator of her son’s estate last year.

Davenport also filed a wrongful death lawsuit, filed in June 2023, against the owner of 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, the location where her son was killed. Judge Cotton placed Doe’s case on hold pending the outcome of the probate proceedings.

Doe also filed a $6 million creditor’s claim against Takeoff’s assets. The lawsuit states that Takeoff made several advances toward her during the party, but she refused them all.

The lawsuit claims that after she tried to lie down in the bedroom, Takeoff entered, “forced himself on top of her, and had sex with her against her will.”

The news follows ongoing court disputes over Takeoff’s assets.
