The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim plot
In Skyrim’s opening sequence, players are mistaken for rebels and face execution alongside Ulfric Stormcloak. Alduin the Dragon interrupts execution and the player becomes the Dragonborn. After learning the ways of the voice from Greybeard, the Dragonborn investigated the dragon’s attacks. The blade warrior Delphine suspected the Thalmer was involved and sent the Dragonborn to the Rift to find Asborn.
Esbern raised the cry to suppress Alduin and sent the dragonborn to learn it. Paarthurnax suggested traveling through time to find the Shout and guide the Dragonborn to the Elder Scrolls. The Dragonborn mastered the Dragonsplit and faced Alduin at the Throat of the World.
The dragonborn helped capture Alduin, and the dragon revealed Alduin’s retreat to Sognard. A truce was reached to capture a dragon at Whiterun. Aldavien transported the dragonborn to Sognard, where the original heroes teamed up to defeat Alduin once again. Back in Skyrim, the Dragonborn faces a moral dilemma when the Blade demands Paarthurnax’s death. Paarthurnax questions the nature of good and the ability to defeat evil, leaving the choice to the dragonborn.
