Tlhopie Motsepe (born 12 June 1989) is a 35-year-old South African businessman.
He is the first child of famous and wealthy billionaire Patrice Motsepe.
Born into a billionaire family, his father is the owner of African Rainbow Minerals, one of the largest gold mining companies.
His father also held an important position among the richest and most influential people in South Africa.
In 2014, his father single-handedly bought Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club. His father’s hard work placed a huge responsibility, great reputation and focus on him as he became the club’s chairman as his father’s first son.

Early life
Tlhopie Motsepe was born to Patrice Motsepe and Precious Moloi-Motsepe on 12 June 1989. His paternal grandparents are Augustine Motsepe and Key Motsepe.
He was born in Durban, South Africa and is the first child, having two siblings: Kgosi Motsepe and Kabelo Motsepe.
He was loved and cared for by his parents as their first child after marriage. He has several famous relatives who are politicians.
When Tlhopie Motsepe was 20 years old, his father “Patrice Motsepe” bought him an extremely expensive and special Audi RS4 Supercharged B7.
Details of how he spent his childhood life are a matter of confidentiality as it is not made public to anyone nor discussed by him. South African President and Minister Jeff Radebe is Tlhopie Motsepe’s in-law.
Education
It is not known where Tlhopie Motsepe attended primary school or secondary school. However, many believe that he must have attended an exclusive and expensive school outside of South Africa, given his wealthy family background.
However, Tlhopie Motsepe (at the persuasion of his father) went to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) to study Law. He graduated and was awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree.
After graduating with a Law degree, he went on to study for a Masters in Business Administration outside South Africa. It is not known whether he was able to complete his Masters.
Career
Tlhopie Motsepe’s career took off after his father passed away, leaving him vacant and needing a replacement. Tlhopie Motsepe then became a co-owner of a solar energy manufacturing company called Epower Holdings. His other co-owners were Rudi van der Westhuizen and Tariq Yusuf.
Tlhopie Motsepe is also the Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, the club his father bought before he died. He is the chairman of the club, while Dr Rejoice Simelane is the Vice Chairman.
He is also the head of African Rainbow Minerals, which was founded by his father in 2003 and is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. ARM is mainly involved in the mining of gold, iron, copper and coal, and he has ensured that the company is running smoothly.

Tlhopie Motsepe appears to keep his existence and business away from social media. As a result, there are no accounts of him on any of the widely used social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter. The exact reason for this decision remains unknown.
