Malam Umar Namadi Dammodi (born 7 April 1963) is a Nigerian politician of the All Progressives Congress (APC), governor-elect of Jigawa State.
While serving as deputy governor of the state, he was elected. He is a certified public accountant and is the founder of Umar & Co. Chartered Accountants based in Kano.

Early life
Umar Namadi was born on 7 April 1963. He was born in Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Mallam Namadi attended Kafin Hausa Central Primary School before proceeding to Mallam Madori Teachers’ Training College and obtaining a Level II Teacher’s Certificate in 1982.
He sat for his A Level Certificate examinations in 1984. He passed with honours, which earned him admission to Bayero University, Kano, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1987 and later an MBA.
After graduation, Mallam Umar Namadi joined as an Auditor in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Assistant at Egwu Oga & Co. Auditing firm in Makurdi, Benue State. From 1988 to 1994, he worked in various capacities for Abdu Abdurrahim & Co. Chartered Accountants based in Kano, which included Audit Management and Advisory Services.
He worked as a Principal Inspector of the National Commission for Community Banking before joining Kaduna Textiles Limited where he held various positions.
Mallam Umar advanced his career when he joined Dangote Group where he rose from Assistant General Manager Finance to Chief Financial Officer at both Dangote Sugar Refinery and Dangote Group.
After working in the commercial sector, he transferred his knowledge and talent to the public sector. He was the Director General of Finance and Accounting and Director General of Contribution Management at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) from 2006 to 2013.
He then left government service to pursue a business career and private practice, serving as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Danmodi Food Processing Limited (Rice Millers), Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Danmodi Farms Limited and Managing Partner of Namadi, Umar & Co. Chartered Accountants.
Mallam Umar Namadi was appointed as Deputy Governor of Jigawa State in 2019 after serving as the state’s Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning from 2015 to 2019 where he championed various changes in the state’s financial management, improving efficiency and transparency.

- Chairman, State Action Committee on HIV/AIDS (SACA)
