LAHORE: A motorcyclist in Lahore committed enough violations to be fined an amount equivalent to the value of the motorbike.
Motorists continue to violate traffic rules in Lahore, due to which e-scooters are constantly being generated by the city’s safety camera system.
He was fined Rs 55,200 for not wearing a helmet and repeatedly violating the lane, authorities said. The amount is a result of 24 e-challans of Rs 2,000 each for not wearing helmet and 9 e-challans for lane, stopping and signal violations.
According to the Director of Traffic Lahore, e-challans were issued for 19 violations of traffic rules and action against these violations was taken indiscriminately, with the help of artificial intelligence system (WHO).
Safe City has also been integrated with Police Khidmat Markazes and Driving License Management System.
