Early life and education
Vivek Anand Oberoi is an Indian actor born on 3 September 1976 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana), India. He is the son of famous actors Suresh Oberoi and Yashodhara Oberoi.
Oberoi has a sister, Meghna Oberoi, a famous Indian playback singer. For his studies, Oberoi studied at Mayo College in Ajmer and Mithibai College in Mumbai.
He then attended a workshop for actors in London, where he was discovered by a director from New York University who invited him to complete a master’s degree in film acting in New York. Oberoi is ethnically Indian and follows Hinduism as his religion.
Career
Vivek Oberoi began his acting career in 2002, starring in the Hindi crime drama “Company” and the romantic drama “Saathiya”. Oberoi made his debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s gangster film “Company”, which emerged as a critical and commercial success.
In 2004, he starred in the comedy Masti and the political thriller Yuva, both of which were well received by critics and audiences. In 2005, Oberoi played the protagonist in Subhash Ghai’s Kisna: The Warrior Poet.
The following year, he appeared in the crime drama Omkara, Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Othello.” He plays Characa, a character based on the original play.

Vivek Oberoi is currently in a long-term relationship with Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka Chief Minister Jeevaraj Alva. They married in 2010 and have two children together, a son named Vivaan and a daughter named Amelia.
Before marrying Priyanka Alva, Oberoi was in a relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai. However, this relationship ended bitterly with harassment and stalking allegations against Oberoi.
