‘Vote like your life depends on it because it does’

Billie Eilish has officially endorsed Kamala Harris for president.

On Tuesday, Eilish posted a video to Instagram for National Voter Registration Day with her brother Finneas.

“We voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy,” Eilish said.

Singer-songwriter and record producer Finneas added: “We cannot let extremists control our lives, our liberties, and our futures. The only way to stop them and the dangerous agenda of Project 2025 is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.”

The 22-year-old ended the clip with: “Vote like your life depends on it because it does.”

“Today is National Voter Registration Day. We’re voting Harris-Walz,” the “Birds of a Feather” singer wrote in the caption of the post. “The choice is clear. Check your voting status here: iwillvote.com.” The post garnered more than 760,000 likes and more than 15,000 comments in less than an hour.

Eilish and Finneas, 27, encouraged viewers to check their voter registration status and vote early like they always do.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning duo are the latest celebrities to publicly back Harris in recent weeks. Shortly after Harris and Trump wrapped up their first debate earlier this month, Taylor Swift issued a statement in support of the Democratic candidate.

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential election. I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend,” Swift wrote in a lengthy caption. “I think she is a strong, talented leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm, not chaos. I am so excited and impressed that she chose @timwalz as her running mate, who has been fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s rights over their own bodies for decades.”

Swift, who wore a black turtleneck, signature red lips and wavy beach hair while holding a cat in the letter, wrote that she “recently learned that ‘my’ AI falsely endorsed Donald Trump’s run for the White House on his website. It really brought up my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It made me come to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.”
