Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck after just two years of marriage.
After months of speculation surrounding their marriage, the multi-talented entertainer finally confirmed that she and Affleck are indeed over by filing for divorce in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Instead of hiring a lawyer, Lopez filed the legal paperwork herself on their second wedding anniversary in Georgia, August 20, 2022, TMZ reported.
The two stars were first married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas a month earlier.
However, Lopez and Affleck still have to work through this issue because, according to sources, the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before getting married.

While Lopez and Affleck will likely keep the hundreds of millions of dollars they had before they got married, the money they’ve made and the properties they’ve purchased over the past two years is another story.
According to the source, income from advertising, brand endorsements, movies, albums and other projects earned by the “On the Floor” singer and the Oscar-winning filmmaker during their marriage is joint property because they did not have a prenuptial agreement.
This could also include their $60 million home in Beverly Hills, which they have listed for $68 million.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Affleck has an estimated net worth of $150 million, while his now-estranged wife has a whopping $400 million.

One thing that wasn’t an issue in their divorce proceedings was spousal support, as Lopez chose not to ask for it and Affleck’s request was denied as well.
Lopez’s divorce filing lists their separation date as April 26, which is also when split rumors first began circulating online.
In early May, it was reported that Affleck had moved out of the shared home and rented a mansion in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
He and Lopez have since been seen together in public several times, mostly at events involving their children.

Lopez accompanied Affleck to his eldest daughter Violet’s high school graduation in late May and his son Samuel’s basketball game in early June.
However, they spent the next few weeks apart, with Lopez heading to the Hamptons in New York to celebrate her birthday.
Fans initially had some hope that the two would work things out when Lopez was spotted visiting Affleck’s home last week.
However, Lopez dashed any hopes of reconciliation when she filed for divorce.
“She tried so hard to make things work, and it was heartbreaking,” an unnamed source told People of Lopez on Tuesday. “The kids are the priority, as they always have been.”
