Meet Baker Bryan Ford aka Artisan Bryan On Traditional baking
Baked in Tradition takes Bryan to various baking and dining establishments across New York to highlight baking practices from many different cultures.
Bryan and the entire Baked In Tradition crew completed filming for the show in March 2022.
After completing Baked in Tradition, Bryan explained that he wanted to expand on our idea of baking through an Instagram post. He shared: ‘I wanted to expand on our idea of baking by exploring the relationship that different communities have with bread and pastries.’
Before the film’s release, Bryan Ford posted an Instagram post saying, “10 days until #BakedInTradition airs on @magnolianetwork,” urging his fans and followers to tune in.

Although Bryan has always had a passion for food, baking was not his first career path. After graduating from Loyola University in Chicago, Bryan became a CPA (certified public accountant), according to the Miami New Times. Bryan hated his job and wanted to quit as soon as possible.

According to foodandwine.com, when Bryan Ford published his cookbook, he had only one goal in mind and that was to overturn the European perception of baking sourdough bread. He wanted to highlight the naturally fermented breads of Central and South America that he grew up on.
On March 29, 2020, he even hosted a Sourdough workshop at the Levee, where he taught attendees the basics of mixing, shaping, and baking sourdough bread.
In a short period of time, Bryan Ford has become famous, especially because of his social media presence and TV appearances. He starred in his own cooking show called The Artisan’s Kitchen in 2021. A few months ago, he appeared as a judge on another cooking show called Best in Dough.
