Meet Chris Dorsch, Caitlin Covington’s Husband
Caitlin Covington married Chris Dorsch on June 3, 2018. In front of loved ones and friends, the couple exchanged vows in Charleston, North Carolina. Caitlin, who traveled to Greenville, North Carolina for her first “big job,” according to her website, met Chris shortly after she arrived there.
“I met Chris 18 days after moving in, even though I wasn’t interested in him at first (haha). Chris pursued me and convinced me to go out to lunch with him, which he called “harmless” and the “friend zone”. After that first date, I was done! I quickly fell in love with him.”
The couple also have a daughter named Kennedy.
Of course, she’s been busy since then. Not only has she maintained her influencer status, but she’s also grown her family! Caitlin’s second daughter, Collins Francis Dorsch, was born on January 26, 2023.
Caitlin has more than a million followers on Instagram and her blog “Southern Curls and Pearls” is a popular shopping destination, but the influencer admits that her online persona “definitely doesn’t” reflect her real life.
Covington didn’t intend to turn blogging into a career. The passion project she started in 2011 to document sorority life at UNC Chapel Hill began around the time Instagram started to gain popularity. She never anticipated the number of likes and shares her posts would receive, and as she became famous on social media, she began to experience intense anxiety and sadness.
“I had never experienced anxiety or panic attacks until I started blogging,” the 28-year-old said. “Suddenly, I had all these eyes on me, and they started prying into my private life.”
“People can be so cruel on the internet,” she says, and it’s only a matter of time before things become too much: “I can be doing something simple, and then suddenly I have a panic attack.”
Caitlin’s anxiety began to interfere with her ability to work. She found herself shopping for groceries online just to stay away from other people.
“I’m a very sociable person,” she said. EVERYBODY“My husband and I love going out and meeting friends — it’s really unlike me to not want to do any social activities at all.”
Covington found out that what should have been the happiest time of her life turned sour when she had to organize her wedding to Chris Dorsch in 2018.
“It wasn’t about me and my husband anymore,” she said. “I wasn’t thinking about us getting married and how I was going to spend my whole life with him — I started thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, there’s going to be 800,000 people watching my wedding and judging it … it’s really sad.’”
Caitlin came clean to her mother and fiancé. They urged her to change her lifestyle and see a doctor, who eventually prescribed the antidepressant Lexapro. She was no longer afraid to share the truth behind her glossy photos.
“I have a lot of flaws,” she admits, “My marriage isn’t perfect and my life isn’t perfect… but I know that even if my blog fails, or if people decide to turn their backs on me and they hate me, I’m still okay… I have a family, my husband loves me no matter what, I feel really safe now.”
On Chris’ birthday in March 2023, Caitlin wished her husband, “Happy Birthday, @cmdorsch!!! Words can’t express how grateful we are for you ❤️ seeing you be the amazing father to our girls makes me fall in love with you all over again. You deserve the best today (and every day) 🎉.”

Born Christopher Dorsch, he is the son of the late Teri Dorsch and Michael (Mike) J. Dorsch.
Michael was born on January 1, 1956, in Ripon, WI, to Colonel Donald A. Dorsch (retired) and Joan B. Dorsch (Florek). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, an MBA from Arizona State University, and a PhD from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. He married Theresa (Teri) A. Dorsch (Allemand) on July 28, 1984. In 1986, Mike and Teri moved to Ames, Iowa, where he was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Iowa State University; and in 1993, Mike and his family moved to Clemson, SC to accept an Assistant Professor of Marketing position. He was eventually promoted to Professor of Marketing at Clemson University in 2007.
Michael died at the age of 63 in November 2018 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
In August 2020, Chris shared about his father, “Today, my dad was recognized as Professor Emeritus of Marketing at Clemson University. My family is so proud of what he accomplished at Clemson and the impact he has had on the Marketing Industry. #ProudSon #GonebutNeverForgotten #CheersToYouDad.”
Chris’ mother, Teri, was born on March 10, 1960, in Beaver Dam, WI, to George E. Allemand and Joan B. (Boughton) Allemand, both deceased. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and an MBA from the University of Arkansas–Fayetteville. She was a lecturer in the Marketing Department at Iowa State University; and in 1993, Teri and her family moved to Clemson, SC. From 2007-2009, Teri was the Assistant Optical Store Manager at Clemson Ophthalmology. From 2010 until her death, Teri was the Office Manager at Seneca Pediatric Endocrinology.
Teri passed away on October 20, 2013, at the age of 53, after a year and a half battle with triple-negative breast cancer.
