In the late 90s, Lauren Jenai started CrossFit with her husband to make an impact in the fitness industry. And they did. What started as a revolutionary style of training, what the two created allowed people to get healthy and fit in a competitive and welcoming environment, in a way that had never been thought of before. So, ever since, Lauren has made a point of staying in the press, whether discussing how she created this successful business and community over the past two decades or other times for personal reasons. Lately, however, she has been making headlines mainly for her now estranged husband, Franklin Tyrone Tucker.
However, for the rest of the article, we will mainly discuss Franklin, who is Lauren Jenai’s ex-husband, and other aspects of his life.
Meet Franklin Tyrone Tucker, Co-Founder of CrossFit Lauren Jenai’s Ex-Husband
So an insider told PageSix in December 2022 that CrossFit co-founder Lauren Jenai and her husband Franklin Tyrone Tucker had been separated for more than a year (as of July 2021) and were expected to divorce after Franklin’s lawsuit was settled.
The couple married in June 2020 in a quirky Day of the Dead-themed ceremony on Lauren’s lawn in Portland, Oregon. However, it didn’t take long for the marriage to go sour. In addition, the pair, who had met as teenagers, reconnected and later got engaged while Franklin was in prison. Lauren reportedly contacted Franklin when she heard about his arrest.
Regardless, the two split in 2021, meaning they didn’t get divorced. And despite the split, Lauren still stood by Franklin’s innocence while he served his sentence.
The world watched as the fitness guru posted $2 million bail to get Franklin released in dramatic fashion. Lauren had actually mortgaged two of her homes to secure the bail, about three years ago. Fortunately, that bail agreement not only expired in December 2022, but the judge also set a new, much lower bail. The trial is now scheduled for spring 2023.
Franklin, meanwhile, has been under house arrest since his release on the aforementioned $2 million bond. Until then, he is awaiting trial on murder charges in a Florida detention center.
