Louise Moore was thrilled to be appearing on The Great Cookbook Challenge as a judge. Commenting on this term, she revealed that she has been compiling cookbooks for more than 20 years. Therefore, she said, she knows the dedication, skill and intuition required to create recipes that people want to buy and try at home.
She also paints a picture of how hard it is to break into publishing. Louise talks about how it’s an impossible dream for so many great chefs out there. “So I’m excited to go out and discover incredible new talent, new perspectives and new approaches to cooking and food. We know there’s talent out there and I’m excited to help them reach their full potential.”
In addition to the actual work, in the first episode of Jamie Oliver’s big challengeLouise also revealed that she used to be a vegetarian. Although she now eats meat.
When Louise was served rabbit ragout by contestant Katie, the judge said, “I don’t think I could do that” and asked how someone like her could ever make the switch to eating rabbit. But even though she didn’t taste the dish, she praised Katie for her great idea.

She studied History at Girton College Cambridge, University of the Arts London.
