Meet Shannon Nelson, Ted Lasso Actor Brendan Hunt Wife
Shannon Nelson got engaged to longtime boyfriend Brendan Hunt in June 2023.
Sharing the good news, she wrote on her IG, “We are a family. A wonderful family and will always be. Some people think we have done this already, but the truth is we had other priorities when it came to being a family. It feels right now. I get to marry this amazing man. I get to call him my husband and be his wife and I am the luckiest person.”
Similarly, actor Ted Lasso posted a photo of his wife showing off the ring on his IG and captioned the post, “The majestic @snoopshann, rarely photographed in her natural habitat, captured here as she says ‘yes’.”
But this isn’t the first time the couple have complimented each other on Instagram.
On Brendan’s 50th birthday, Shannon wrote on her IG, “He is truly intelligent, incredibly talented, always willing to teach the game to those who don’t know how to play or spread the word about football and he is working hard to create amazing things for all of us to enjoy.”
She also added, “Getting to navigate this crazy world with him by my side is such an amazing gift. Watching him with our son, seeing their love, and knowing that our son doesn’t even know how good of a life he has yet, is really exciting sometimes.”
Plus, Shannon is thrilled to have Ted as her child’s father. “I’m so excited to watch Sean discover the immense joy he gets every day from having him as his father,” she said.

Shannon Nelson and Brendan Hunt welcomed their son Sean on January 23, 2021, at 10:32 a.m. GMT, weighing 7 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 19.6 inches long. He was born after 27 hours of labor and ultimately a cesarean section.
Unfortunately, Sean wasn’t the healthiest kid. “The inconvenient and near-constant doctor’s visits, the pills, the patches, the shots, the hormones, the waiting, the testing, the tears,” Shannon says. But through it all, she found the magic of motherhood.
Raising her son has been the best time of her life. “My beautiful ginger love. Today, you brought me your treasures for the first time and I was so touched thinking about how lucky we are to be your parents. Hearing you say ‘mama’ broke my heart,” she wrote on IG.

Shannon Nelson is an actress. She began her acting career right after graduating from Minot High School in 1993, playing “Traci Winder” in the television series Silk Stalkings. She then took a short break to pursue a BFA at the University of Minnesota and resumed her career in 1999, appearing in Drop Dead Gorgeous and Emergency Room 2.
She then went on to star in several films and television shows including ER (2001), The Practice (2003), Gold (2009), Alice and the Monster (2012), Pairings (2012–2014), Cannabis Moms Club (2016), Ruth (2020), and Ted Lasso (2023).

Shannon Nelson Family
Shannon Nelson comes from a family of veterans. Her parents, Gloria and Wayne Nelson, are both Air Force veterans who joined the military more or less immediately after graduating from high school. They raised Shannon and her brother in peacetime and during the first Gulf War. “I saw firsthand the sacrifices that go into serving, and I am deeply grateful to all who did,” Shannon said.
Her mother, Gloria, who turns 68 on July 31, 2022, has spent the past few years caring for her younger sister and biological mother.
As for her father, Wayne, who turned 70 in February 2023, after retiring as Deputy Director of Family Support in the United States Air Force, he retired and went on to work as Executive Assistant at the Olmsted County District Attorney’s Office. He currently resides in Kasson, Minnesota with his new wife Kelly Battig Nelson.
Speaking of his younger brother, Scott Nelson, who is two years younger than him, is a graduate of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School and Minnesota State University Moorhead. He lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with his wife, April Lynn @alynn0602 (born July 1979), and their son, Tyler Nelson.
Shannon was also close to her nephew Tylor, a published poet, a baseball player, a good student with an impressive circle of friends, a lover of movies and musicals, and a high school graduate attending the University of Redlands.
