Tory Lanez was born Daystar Peterson to his father Sonstar Shemuel Shua Peterson on July 27, 1992, in Brampton, Canada. Following Tory’s sentencing, after he was found guilty of three counts of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020, chaos erupted in the courtroom as his father reportedly filmed the scene and yelled about “evil” prosecutors.

Sonstar and his wife both heard screams of “cruel injustice.” He shouted: “This wicked system will be judged by Almighty God!” AP news agency reported. Then he exclaimed and pointed at the two lawyers of the case: “You two are evil, cruel people. You know exactly what you did.”

Sonstar was still screaming even after being taken out of the courtroom. Meghann Cuniff, senior reporter at Law & Crime, described the courtroom situation as “absolutely terrifying” in a tweet.

“Tory Lanez was detained on the spot, handcuffed by sheriff’s deputies. There were a total of six people in the courtroom, two at the door and four behind Lanez, and there was quite a chaotic scene as they tried to control Lanez’s father and stepmother,” Cuniff tweeted. “A woman in the courtroom raised her hand as Tory’s father was shouting about Roc Nation and cruel injustice, repeating ‘In the name of Jesus!’ The sheriffs forced them all into the hallway and told the courtroom that we had to sit still.”

The couple shares at least two children together; a daughter named Teyhani and a son named Seraphim. Their daughter turned 7 in March 2022.
