Willie Nelson health update: Singer misses tour opening date due to unspecified illness

Fans have been waiting for Willie Nelson to return to the big stage. He was supposed to play at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater in Alpharetta, GA, alongside some legendary musicians in the music industry. However, many were surprised when it was announced that he would not be joining them due to his health condition.

A statement on his official Instagram account read: “We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is feeling unwell and on doctor’s orders he has been advised to rest for four days next.”

The post clarifies that the singer is expected to make a full recovery and will be available for an upcoming appearance at his Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.

“In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band along with several guests will perform a special set of Willie classics and other songs,” the letter continued.

Although Nelson won’t be on hand for the next few days, other performers on his tour, like Bob Dylan, Rober Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse, will still be on hand to entertain fans.

Fans immediately took to the comments section to share their well wishes for the musician, with one writing, “my heart just stopped beating. Hope you get well soon, Willie.”

“Almost had a heart attack!! Thank god Willie is okay. Praying he gets better soon,” another wrote, while another added, “Pray Willie please try to keep a Good man.”

In addition to the musicians mentioned above, other musical artists set to appear during the Outlaw Music Festival are John Mellencamp, Billie Strings, Brittney Spencer, Celisse and Southern Avenue.
