KARACHI: YouTube has announced its 2024 Year-End List, celebrating the most popular videos on the platform. The list reflects moments that resonated with audiences across Pakistan, revealing the country’s diverse entertainment and information consumption patterns.
This year’s list includes three categories – Top Trending Videos, Top Music Videos and Top Creators – providing a fascinating look into Pakistan’s digital landscape. In 2024, YouTube sees significant growth as Pakistani creators upload more content than ever before. Total hours of content uploaded by local creators increased 60% over the past year.
The trends of 2024 paint a vivid picture of Pakistan’s video viewing preferences. Entertainment dominates, with drama and action films topping the Top Trending Videos list. Engaging local dramas like “Ishq Murshid”, “Jaan Nisar” and “Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum” hold the top three positions, confirming Pakistan’s enduring love for gripping storytelling. The appeal of action cinema is also evident in the popularity of South Indian action films, such as “Tiger Nageswara Rao” and Ram Pothineni’s “SKANDA”.
The Top Music Video category celebrates the unifying power of music, showcasing music that transcends languages and connecting audiences around the world. This year’s list features a mix of globally renowned artists and renowned local artists, reflecting music’s ability to build bridges between communities and nations. This year’s three biggest songs, a Punjabi hit, a Bollywood blockbuster and an emotional Pakistani ballad, highlight the diverse musical tastes that unite people across borders. These songs not only topped the charts but also captured hearts and minds, proving that music has no language.
The Top Creators list highlights individuals who continue to inspire millions with their creativity, authenticity and innovation. Channels like Rajab’s Family, Anaya Eeshal Family, Arshad Reels and Dr Imtiaz Ahmad showcase diverse voices on YouTube, including everything from daily family vlogs to lifestyle, wellness and educational content. sex.
