In 2013, he participated in the Ashanti Regional High School Rap Competition and won the prize, beating many students from other secondary schools.

Ypee started his music career right after graduating from secondary school. He was heavily influenced by top Ghanaian artistes. His music career was quite successful until he released the hit song Meye Guy (Remix).

In his short career, he has worked with top Ghanaian music artists including Sarkodie, Samini, Kelvyn Boy, Medikal, Criss Waddle, Joey B, Lilwin, Kofi Mole, Kuami Eugene and Sista Afia.

He hosted and organized a concert called “Mefri Oseikrom Concert in Ghana”, popularly known by the hashtag #MefriOseikromConcert, held in Kumasi, which attracted many regulars and VIPs, with an audience of over 15,000 people.
