Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie (born 7 January 1982), known professionally as Yul Edochie, is a talented Nigerian actor, businessman and politician.

He was named after famous Russian actor Yul Brynner. He is from Anambra state, Nigeria, and is the son of Nigerian actor Pete Edochie.

Yul Edochie grew up in both Lagos and Enugu. He is the last child in a family of six children. He married May Yul-Edochie at the age of 22 in 2004.

He attended the University of Port Harcourt, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts.

Career

Yul Edochie started his career in the Nollywood industry at the age of 23 when he was cast in The Exquires alongside Justus Esiri and Chidi Mokeme. Since then, he has appeared in several other Nollywood movies.

His big break came in 2007 when he starred in the film Wind of Glory alongside Genevieve Nnaji and Desmond Elliot. Since then, he has continued to take on diverse roles in released Nigerian films.

Yul Edochie feels the country is not doing enough to train the next generation of actors and actresses. Therefore, he founded the Yul Edochie Academy in 2015 to train the next generation of actors and actresses.

He received the 2009 Best New Actor of the Year (English) award at the City People Entertainment Awards.
