Early life and education
Zahara is a creative musician who was born on 9 November 1987 in the informal settlement of Phumlani, outside East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Zahara’s parents are Mlamli Mkutukana and Nokhaya Mkutukana, and she is the sixth of seven children in the family.
Nomonde Mkutukana, Mbuyiseli Mkutukana and Mbangedewa Mkutukana are Zahara’s siblings.
While Zahara has not revealed any information about her educational background beyond high school, her musical talent and career have undoubtedly made her a well-known figure in South Africa.
