Early life and education
Zahara is a creative musician who was born on 9 November 1987 in the informal settlement of Phumlani, outside East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Zahara’s parents are Mlamli Mkutukana and Nokhaya Mkutukana, and she is the sixth of seven children in the family.
Zahara’s siblings include Nomonde Mkutukana, Mbuyiseli Mkutukana and Mbangedwa Mkutukana.
While Zahara has not revealed any information about her educational background beyond high school, her musical talent and career have undoubtedly made her a well-known figure in South Africa.

Zahara’s musical journey began when she was young, singing on the streets of East London. She was eventually noticed by Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza of the band TKZee and they started dating. TS Records in 2011.
