Zhou Xun is a Chinese actress and singer who was born into a middle-class family in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on October 18, 1974. Her father Zhou Tianyu was a film projectionist and her mother Chen Yiqin was a salesperson in a department store.
Zhou Xun attended Quzhou No. 1 Middle School, but despite her parents’ wishes for her to complete higher education, Zhou Xun decided to follow her love for theatrical arts and enrolled at Zhejiang Academy of Arts.
