The Pentagon has installed new AI cameras enhancing airspace in Washington, DC, to improve airspace security. Created by startup Teleidoscope, the system uses advanced cameras and AI to track and identify flying objects, helping operators focus on threats. Two cameras are already in use and there are plans to add more each year. They replace an older system from 20 years ago and include lasers to warn pilots off course. The system is more accurate, reduces the need to use costly military jets to intercept planes, and adds better imagery to keep the city’s airspace safe.
