Biography
Allen Ifechukwu Onyema is a highly regarded Nigerian businessman, lawyer and philanthropist.
He was born in 1964 in the Niger Delta before moving west to pursue his passion.
He is the founder of Air Peace and the Chairman of the Foundation for National Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN). He made headlines in 2019 after offering his plane to transport Nigerians in South Africa during xenophobic attacks.

Early life
Allen Onyema was born on March 28, 1964 in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
He hails from the Igbo speaking region of the country; a town called Mbosi, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He grew up with eight siblings and was also the first born.
Allen Onyema lost his mother to kidney failure in 1991. His formative years were spent in the Benin-Warri axis before he moved west for schooling and greener pastures.
Education
Allen Onyema completed his basic education before attending St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Azia and Urhobo College, Effurun. He was also a student at Government College, Ughelli.
After completing his Senior Secondary Certificate from Government College in 1984, he was admitted directly to the University of Ibadan where he studied Law. Three years later, he joined the Nigerian Law School before being called to practice as a lawyer a year later.
He also holds a level three certificate in Nonviolent Education from the University of Rhode Island.
Career
Allen Onyema moved to Lagos in 1990 after completing his university studies. However, his parents never supported his decision to go west while his uncle, Captain JOW Onyema; who was a marina captain, also wanted him to work at Shell: an Oil and Gas Company.
He occupied Oshodi, in Lagos State and moved to Lagos Island by rail during his early days as a lawyer. He eventually met the late Chief Vincent Amobi Nwizugbo, who hired him to work in his office in Martins Street, Lagos Island.
After winning his first court case, Allen Onyema was awarded a monthly salary of 500 naira at the time.
A few years later, he entered the real estate business and was so successful that he decided to stop several other projects, including the law firm where he was highly regarded.

While studying at the University of Ibadan, Allen Onyema and nine other students went to resolve a religious and ethnic riot in Zaria.
He then founded the Group of Honourable Friends – with the sole purpose of ensuring unity among Nigeria’s various ethnic groups and eradicating violence from the country.
This event paved the way for a series of other humanitarian acts that Allen Onyema has undertaken to date.
The organization is now known as the Foundation for National Harmony in Nigeria (FEHN), headed by Allen Onyema.
Air Peace Aviation Services
Allen Onyema founded Air Peace in 2013, after resigning from a law firm and setting up his own company and an import trading company called Continental Business Links Ltd.
Before the airline was founded, Allen Onyema had a solid financial foundation in the previous years.
He eventually bought planes and hired qualified staff to run Air Peace; now one of the most successful airlines in Nigeria.
Allen Onyema recently made headlines after offering to send a plane to take Nigerians to South Africa during the xenophobic attacks months ago.
Personal life
At the age of 28, Allen Onyema married his fiancée in 1993. His wife hails from the Igala speaking area of Kogi State. Allen Onyema’s wife is known as Alice Ojochide Onyema.
Allen Onyema and his wife, Alice Ojochide Onyema Union are blessed with three sons namely Chinonso Onyema, Obinna Onyema, Ugochukwu Onyema and a daughter named Nnenna Onyema.
