Looking for a new challenge, Ashleigh Plumptre had a brief spell at Derby County’s Women’s Premier League Centre of Excellence in 2014. But fate took her to Notts County in WSL 1, where she made her debut in 2014 and shone on the pitch in 26 appearances over two memorable seasons.
Her dream didn’t stop there, as she aspired to play for the Nigerian national team. In 2021, FIFA gave Ashleigh Plumptre the chance, and in February 2022, she finally made her debut for Nigeria, contributing to a resounding 2-0 win over Ivory Coast.
