Early life
Ashley ShahAhmadi was born on June 23, 1992 in the United States. His father is Iranian, immigrated when he was fourteen, born and raised in the United States.
He later married Cheryl Rebeshke, a native of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, Ashley’s mother. Ashley spent her formative years in Atlanta, Georgia, with her two older brothers, Aryon and Brandon.
She always wanted to be a sideline reporter for the NBA. She attended Marrieta Kell High School because basketball was her hobby there, where she honed her shot-blocking skills.
Her favorite high school basketball moment was being the team’s second leading scorer and contributing 50% of the team’s points.
When Ashley was in seventh grade, her mother took her to an Atlanta Hawks game, where she saw a well-dressed woman with a microphone in her hand chatting with the Hawks’ head coach on the sidelines.
This motivated Ashley to pursue a career in sports journalism. In 2014, she made her dream come true by earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Georgia.

Career
She moved to Meridian, Mississippi, in 2014 after earning her degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), where she began her broadcasting career as a sports anchor at 6 and 10 a.m. covering college teams at Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss.
In 2016, Ashley moved to Jackson to work as a weekend sports anchor for WAPT-TV. In 2018, she agreed to work in Atlanta as a Social Media Content Producer/Host for Fox Sports South/Southeast.
Ashley ShahAhmadi then became a substitute announcer for the Charlotte Hornets. Soon after, Ashley was able to host Hornets Live before and after the game and became a full-time editorial reporter.
ShahAhmadi also hosts a 30-minute pre- and post-game show called Braves Live to preview and analyze games.
