Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson didn’t actually get to watch Beyoncé’s halftime show like he had planned

Beyoncé’s Netflix halftime show was watched by millions, but Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not.

Queen Bey takes the stage at NRG Stadium in Houston during halftime of the Texans vs. Ravens. While he initially said he would watch the show and apologize in front of his coach and teammates, Jackson revealed he didn’t actually follow through.

According to Yahoo, “No, I was locked in. That’s just for all of you. I was here in the locker room getting ready for the second half.”

During a press conference on December 23, Jackson shared that his eyes would not leave Beyoncé during her highly anticipated halftime performance.

“I’ll go out there and see, man,” he said.

“First time seeing Beyoncé perform and it was at our match, it was amazing. I’m going out to watch. Sorry, [coach John] I’ll go out and see. So sorry, [coach John] Harbaugh. Sorry guys,” Jackson added.

While Beyoncé’s performance caught the attention of many, not everyone was a fan. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was quick to applaud in response to the introduction.

“Beyoncé has been LOST since Destinys Child,” he said, quoting his old tweet from 2023 sharing that he thought Rihanna was far superior to Beyoncé.

Portnoy wasn’t the only one who shared that sentiment as others compared Beyoncé’s halftime performance to Rihanna’s 2023 Super Bowl performance.

Many believed the stages looked familiar, however, others came to Queen Bey’s defense and said that she incorporated the floating stage in her performance before Rihanna did.

During her performance, Beyoncé performed songs that she appreciated. cowboy Carter album and features Post Malone, Shaboozey and her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
