Early life
BBNaija Groovy Mono was born in 1995 in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Orakwe. His name is Henry Olisaemeka Orakwe. His native name is Olisaemeka which means “God has done well”. He was born and raised in Lagos state.
He belongs to Igbo ethnicity and comes from the Southeast region. He is an indigene of Anambra State.
BBNaija Groovy Mono is the first child of the Orakwe family and has three siblings – a younger brother and two twin sisters. He comes from a religious family and was raised in the Christian faith.
Education
BBNaija Groovy Mono completed his primary education at a leading private nursery and primary school in Lagos.
He studied at St. Finbarr’s College in Yaba, Lagos, for secondary education. He graduated from this school with high marks in the West African School Certificate Examination.

Career
BBNaija Groovy Mono is a multi-talented creator. He discovered his singing talent when he was in high school. He often creates cover versions of popular songs and performs them to the amazement of his classmates.
However, when he was accepted into university, he decided to take his singing talent more seriously and began honing his songwriting skills. He also spent a lot of time fine-tuning his sound to stand out from other emerging singers.
BBNaija Groovy Mono often participates in music competitions held in Lagos to promote his growth in the music industry. While still a student, he was a known face in Unilag’s music community as he often performed at music programs and events held on campus. Before graduating from college, he recorded several singles that were loved by fans. At that time, his fans were limited to the student community.
BBNaija Groovy Mono released his first official single, Groovy Zone, on November 7, 2020. The song helped launch his music career and did well locally. Groovy Zone introduced BBNaija Groovy Mono to a wider audience as it received airplay on several radio stations and recorded hundreds of streams a few weeks after its release. The song positioned him as an artist noticed by the underground music community in Lagos.
Almost a year later, BBNaija Groovy Mono decided to hit the music industry, leading to the creation of a 5-track project. The Groovy Hours EP was released on October 27, 2021. Since its release, the song has received positive reviews from critics and has increased BBNaija Groovy Mono’s popularity in the industry music. The EP recorded thousands of streams from music-loving fans.
Toby Bada$$ produced all songs on the project except Gang Signs. Screamralph produces Gang Signs. In a similar vein, all tracks were mixed and mastered by Toby Bada$$.
Passionate about the entertainment industry, BBNaija Groovy Mono dreams of becoming a reality TV star. So, he auditioned for the seventh season of Big Brother Naija in 2022. Luckily, he was selected.
On July 23, 2022, he was revealed as one of the 24 housemates of Big Brother Naija (Promotion Season).
