BTS’s J-Hope received a certificate of commendation for his exemplary military service from his military superiors.

J-Hope, whose real name is Jung HoSeok, shared photos from his military days on his social media on January 5 as he reflected on the year 2024.

The BTS member, who completed his mandatory service in October 2024, earned several awards during his 18-month commitment, including the title of Special Warrior, early promotion, and honorary rank as group leader.

After J-Hope was discharged, dozens of comrades came to celebrate his completion, including high-ranking officers and colonels, many of whom knelt to pay their respects.

“You performed your duties as drill instructor excellently,” said one colonel. Your contributions in building a stronger military will not be forgotten.”

J-Hope showed off his collection of 11 commendations received during his time in the service, solidifying his status as an exemplary soldier.

“2024 was an emotional year for me, filled with anxiety, excitement, and loneliness as I left the military,” J-Hope wrote in a Weverse post.

“Now, I am entering 2025 with anticipation and determination.”
