Bucci Franklin was born on June 9, 1994 to Mr. and Mrs. Odurukwe. He was born in Port Harcourt. His parents registered him as Onyebuchi Franklin Odurukwe. Franklin is Bucci’s English name.
He lived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State during his formative years. Although born and raised in the South-South geopolitical zone, he is originally from the South-East region. Butch Franklin is an Igbo from Imo State. He can trace his ancestry back to Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
Born into a middle-class family, Bucci Franklin’s parents were civil servants in downtown Port Harcourt. He developed an interest in the media industry at an early age and aspired to become a television personality.

Butch Franklin received his primary and secondary education in the city of Port Harcourt. He obtained his Junior Secondary School Certificate from Bereton Primary School. He attended Covenant Secondary School and achieved excellent results in his O’Levels examinations.
After graduating from high school, Butch Franklin enrolled at the University of Abuja, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts.

Butch Franklin worked in the media for a few years before joining the Nigerian film industry full time. He had his breakthrough role in the 2018 film Knockout Blessing. Since then, he has appeared in many feature films, shorts, dramas, and web series. He received international acclaim for his performance in the 2020 film Rattlers. The Nigerian blockbuster was directed by Ramsey Noah and produced by Charles Okpaleke and Chris Odeh.
In 2022, Bucci Franklin was chosen to play a government role in the Netflix drama original series Far From Home. His success in the film helped him gain greater fame in the international film industry.
