Cameron Coyle Herrin and John Barrineau were both sentenced to prison for their involvement in a tragic street racing accident that claimed the lives of a mother and child on Tampa’s Bayshore Avenue in 2018.

However, tragedy happened before they could safely cross the sea. A 2018 Ford Mustang driven by Cameron Coyle Herrin, who lived a few blocks away, collided with them. Authorities later revealed that Herrin, along with Tristan Herrin as his passenger, had been involved in a race with another vehicle – a yellow Nissan operated by John Barrineau.
Subsequent analysis of the Mustang’s data recorder showed that Herrin was traveling at a staggering “102 miles per hour before he began braking, just minutes before impact.” Notably, the speed limit on the road at that time was only 45 mph.
