Early life

Carmit Bachar was born on September 4, 1974 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

She is of mixed Israeli, Indonesian, Dutch and Chinese descent. She grew up in Encino, California.

Her father is of Jewish-Israeli descent, while her mother is of Dutch, Indonesian, and Chinese descent.

Both her parents were dancers; Carmit Bachar’s father worked with Marcel Marceau and Elvis Presley, while her mother, Dina Van Minnen, was a dance teacher at the Bancroft International High School of Performing Arts.

In 2003, the group successfully signed a recording contract with Interscope Geffen A&M Records, making the group a music label, and Carmit Bachar became the first person to sign to the record label.
