Early life and education
Charli XCX was born in Cambridge, England on August 2, 1992. Her father is an entrepreneur named Jon Aitchison, while her mother Shameera is a former nurse and flight attendant who was born and raised in Uganda.
She grew up in Starhill, Essex, attending a local primary school called Bishop’s Stretford. At the age of 14, she discovered her passion for music, especially pop music, and began writing songs.

Charli XCX borrowed money from her parents to finance her first album when she was 14. Her parents supported her and loaned her the money so she could continue her career.
